Rachael Carman
Bio, Presentation Descriptions, and Speaking Schedule

Rachael Carman is a wife and mother and she is passionate about both. She and Davis have been married almost 22 years and they have been blessed with seven children ranging in age from 5 to 18. She has enjoyed speaking and encouraging women's groups for over 10 years. It is her heart's deepest desire to become all God has planned for her to be for His kingdom's glory. She loves challenging other women to dare to desire the same thing - to live in reckless obedient faith. Her journey into home schooling was a bumpy one, but she is so grateful for the God-adventure and the daily experience of His faithfulness and grace. Rachael is quick to admit her many imperfections and share stories that highlight her shortcomings and the redemptive hand of Jesus Christ. Her humor will put you at ease, her honesty will surprise you, and her heart will inspire you to go deeper, stand firm, and be strong! In the course of all of the demands of family life, God has given Rachael some amazing opportunities. She wrote a book for Focus on the Family in 2005 titled SoundBites from Heaven. The book discusses fifty two different statements parents make to their kids which Rachael argues echo sentiments God would like to communicate to each of us, His children. She tells stories from her own life throughout the book weaving her wit and wisdom into each one. At the end of the short readings she included a few questions of personal introspection for the readers consideration and growth. Rachael believes that God wants to communicate His love and plan for each of us personally and that He does this in a variety of ways including our communication with our kids. As a direct reflection of her heart's desire to affirm, encourage, challenge, inspire and celebrate motherhood, Rachael led the first Real Refreshment Retreat in 2003. It was her vision to give homeschool moms an opportunity to get away and revive themselves through Bible study and prayer as they faced the special challenges of homeschooling. The most unique aspect of these events was the three separate hours set aside for prayer. Worship, teaching, and fellowship were also included in the weekend. Many moms were blessed through the retreats. Now through the ApologiaLive conference for homeschool moms, it is her hope to expand on that ministry and create a weekend that will energize and invigorate the homeschool mom with inspirational worship and speakers.

How To Have a H.E.A.R.T. for Your Kids

In Proverbs 4:23 Solomon wisely wrote, "Above all else, guard your heart, for it is the wellspring of life." As we approach a heart relationship with our children, we need to focus our efforts on what really matters. As with so many things, the first step to having a heart is wanting to have a heart. This lesson uses the word H.E.A.R.T. as an acronym to suggest what really matters from a Biblical viewpoint.

Homeschooling is the adventure of a lifetime and God will be your strength. It is not His will that you to just survive, He wants you to thrive. Come hear what it takes to soar like an eagle.

Seven Simple Steps to Sanity

Ever feel like you are about to loose your mind as a stay at home mom. There is so much to do and so little time. How do you balance it all? How do you know what to do and what not to do? How to Die to Yourself and Live to Tell About It (Galatians 2:20)

Every day we are bombarded with messages that try to convince us that we are individually important. The basic theme is that we should seek self. It's all a big lie, from the king of lies. We must shift our focus away from ourselves and on to our awesome and mighty God. The world is relentlessly pursuing peace and contentment that can only come from a life that is totally surrendered to Christ and His will. Come learn how this realization radically changed Rachael's life's direction and purpose. It can change yours too!

Attention Obsessive-Compulsive Perfectionist Control-Freaks: C.H.I.L.L. O.U.T.!

As an obsessive-compulsive-perfectionist-control-freak herself, Rachael discusses how in many instances she is her own worst enemy when it comes to taking advantage of freedoms of home school. Are you tied to your plan? Do you shiver at the idea of change or adjustment? Are you missing out on significant moments because you are focused on the trivial? It's time to Chill Out and give control of it all to God-He is faithful

Need some R&R? Come and Get It

Rachael directed and spoke at the first three annual Real Refreshment Retreats for Homeschool Moms in the fall of 2003, 2004, and 2005. The retreat was in the beautiful North Carolina mountains and included four sessions on Real Refreshment: 1) What is it? 2) How to Get it? 3) How to Keep it? And 4) How to Share It? This talk will be the condensed version of all the retreat material.

How to Fool Yourself and Everyone Else into Thinking You Have It All Together

We live in a culture and society that is very busy running around trying to do all of the "right" things. Rachael takes a humorous look at this game we are playing and asks: Are we missing anything with all of this running around? And whom are we trying to fool anyway?

Mother - More than Just the Heart of Her Home

In Proverbs 14.1 the Bible says “the wise woman builds up her house, but the foolish woman tears it down with her own hands.” Everyday we make choices to either build up or tear down. And we do it in a variety of ways with our ears, our eyes, our mouth, and of course our hands. Imagine the generation God could build up through us!

Leaders need to be challenged and inspired to stay the course. In this motivational session Rachael vividly describes how faithful leaders: lead, love, listen, learn, and laugh. The listener will leave with a whole new sense of purpose and passion as a homeschool leader.
