Shelley Noonan
Bio, Presentation Descriptions, and Speaking Schedule

Author and speaker Shelley Noonan’s passion is to assist parents in recapturing the lost art of mentoring. With thirteen years of homeschooling her three children and fifteen years of serving the homeschool community, Shelley brings a wide variety of experiences to encourage, motivate, and challenge the conference goer. Shelley is a favorite speaker who frequently gives presentations at Christian Women’s Clubs, church retreats, and homeschool conferences on a variety of topics. A native Nebraskan, Shelley was trained as a licensed practical nurse and lives with her husband on a farm in northeast Nebraska. Shelley has written three books that spring from her own experiences as a daughter and as a mother. The first two books, The Companion Guide to Beautiful Girlhood and Winsome Womanhood ~ Daybreak, were created in the way she mentored her own daughter, and have been valuable resources in extensive use across the United States by home school moms, Sunday school teachers, mentors of young women and grandmothers. These books are an asset to any Christian mother’s life and fill a void that sometimes occurs in the Christian community. They are an effective tool to develop godly daughters and lasting relationships between mothers and daughters. The third book written with her husband, Robert, also focuses on mentoring but is a book for a father to talk to his daughter about the sometimes-sensitive issues of purity. Fathers are invited to assume their God-given role of protector of their daughters in The Three Weavers Plus Companion Guide. The book’s goal is for the daughter to form such a close and trusting relationship with her father that she will be able to say with conviction, “ I am going to wait for my promised prince!” Shelley’s heart is to encourage parents in the important calling of parenting on purpose so that future generations will know, serve and love the Lord.

Studies show that close, healthy father-daughter relationships create a sense of competence in a daughters' academic ability and a stronger sense of femininity in girls. In addition, they are less likely to engage in early sexual behavior. So the questions arise as fathers come to understand the valuable role they can play. How do you begin to capture your daughter's heart and discover together? How do you encourage her to stay pure? How can you ensure she marries a godly man?
