"When it comes to speaking at conventions, I’m kind of the new kid on the block.  Because my curriculum series, The Mystery of History, is still a work in process, I can’t travel and speak as much as I would like to.  (Have to protect those writing hours.)  But this year I stretched my wings a bit, joined the HSVA speaker’s bureau, and thus got myself out of the basement and at a few more conventions than normal.

"The experience so far has been incredible.  With my workshops and contact information posted on the bureau, I have been invited to speak at conferences that might not have found me otherwise.  The generous sponsors of these conferences think of everything to help make these events meaningful as well as profitable.  My thanks to Steve Clark and his staff for providing this awesome service to better connect the homeschool world."

“Last season I spent HOURS searching for conventions on the Web with limited success. Even after finding a convention it was a toss up as to the size of the event and whether it would be worth my time. Having hundreds of convention names, dates and full information at my fingertips will more than earn me back the membership fee.  With the addition of vendor tips and an avenue for communication, it will be a great community!”

"HSVA is filling a niche that has desperately needed to be filled for years. It’s great to have a one-stop location for finding dates for a given conference, obtaining standardized expected attendance figures, and more. Linking all players in a conference – hosts, speakers, and vendors – is becoming increasingly necessary as the homeschooling movement grows, and I applaud HSVA for recognizing and meeting this need."

"Vendors and speakers, you know the program--all winter we send out inquiries for speaking opportunities, line up our conventions, and pray that we make the right choices!  This takes countless hours of hard work--mostly hard guess work.  We never know what conventions we are missing.   Thanks to HSVA, that whole process has become academic.  With a double click on an icon I suddenly have about 2 extra months to spend with my family and to work on my business!  Thank you HSVA!"

"Many thanks for putting together this long overdue and greatly needed site.  Homeschooling has been growing at an extraordinary rate, and this site meets an important need of providing a gathering place of all the scattered but valuable information.  Thank goodness, the endless hours of poring over the computer, seeking current information, are over.  This will not only pay off for conference planners, but also for the individual homeschoolers, who will most certainly see a greater quality and variety arising out of this project."

"I am delighted at the amount of time that the HSVA site has saved me! Finding conventions alone used to eat up hours and following dead links was frustrating. What a blessing for all our reps to have easy access not only to the conventions and dates, but all the other contact information in ONE place! I am relatively new to this business, but have enjoyed the community of HS vendors. Having this place to share information will continue to help us work together to bring great tools to all those home educators out there!"
